Where Are We & How To Find Us?

Our center is located 2 hours (70km) south of Surabaya and 1 hour (40km) north of Malang, along the lower slopes of Mount Arjuna at 850m above sea level with the towering mountain summits of Arjuna (3339m) and Ringgit (2800m) over-looking our activities. Due to our altitude in the mountains, we enjoy a much more pleasant climate than that in other areas such as Surabaya or Jakarta. It is approximately 24 degrees Celsius in the dry season and around 28 degrees and humid in the wet season, often with tropical thunderstorms. Access to our center is available year-round, with good quality roads even in the villages surrounding Kaliandra.

Surabaya Juanda is the closest international airport, although flights may be available into Malang (which is closer still) depending on your departure location. Bali Denpasar is only 30 minutes flight from Surabaya and Jakarta approximately 1 hour. For transportation from the airport, arrange with us in advance with your flight details and an airport transfer will be arranged for you. Alternatively, you may opt to arrive by public transport by taking the shuttle bus to the main bus terminal - Bungurasih - and then follow the directions below 'By Bus'. Alternatively, you may pre-arrange for collection by our Kaliandra team.

By Car/Private Bus
If arriving at Kaliandra by your own transport, the simplest way is to take the Surabaya-Malang highway and follow directions towards Taman Safari II which is very close to our center. Just before arriving at Taman Safari you will see a signpost on the right for Kaliandra – take this right-turn. Follow this road for approximately 1.5km until you see another Kaliandra sign on the left pointing up the hill. Take this left turn and follow the steep hill until you arrive at ‘Yayasan Kaliandra Sejati'.

By Bus
From Surabaya, take a public bus (Pariwisata) from the main bus station (Purabaya/Bungurasih) towards Malang, choosing one of the many companies who manage this route and request Pandaan (pronounced Panda-an) Terminal.
From Malang, take a public bus (Pariwisata) from the main bus station (Arjosari) towards Surabaya, from any of the bus operators and again request Pandaan Terminal.
To get to Kaliandra you must then ride an Ojek (motorcycle with driver) if appropriate and ask for ‘Yayasan Kaliandra Sejati, Prigen' or in advance of your visit request collection by our Kaliandra team.

By Train
It is also possible to get to Kaliandra from Surabaya and Malang by train (economy class only) heading to either Bangil or Lawang. If you choose to arrive by train, please contact us in advance to arrange collection by our Kaliandra team.
